How we help – advice on mobility equipment and modifications to help the aged in Hampshire, Sussex and Surrey
Equipment
Q. I like my house the way it is. How can I find out what is available to help me, without changing things too much?
A. We understand very well that even small changes are uncomfortable, but it may be that a very small item can help you live much more easily. Our staff see lots of different situations and may be able to suggest what might suit you. Alternatively, we can arrange for a specialist, such as an Occupational Therapist (OT), to come and advise what might suit you best.
Q. I am finding it difficult to get up and downstairs. Does this mean I cannot stay in my home any longer?
A. No. Lots of people arrange their houses in slightly different ways to be able to cope when using the stairs becomes difficult. Stairlifts are one possibility, and even moving into a downstairs room, if you have a bathroom (or could arrange a bathroom) on the ground floor. It is even possible to install a lift into a room to take you up to your bedroom.
