If you need someone during the night, or several times a day, just to help you cope, then a person living in your home may be the ideal solution. It may also help you to get home promptly from hospital: we can stay with you until you are well enough to manage on your own again.
It is always a big decision, to have someone actually living in your house, but it need not be such an intrusion into your privacy. Home Help`s live in staff are trained to be there to help you when you need them, and not to be in your way, when they`re not.
Continue to live as you choose. The arrangements between you and the live in are entirely for you to decide, whether you like to get up early in the morning, or to lie in for a while, whether you would like to go out on a visit to the shops or call in and see a friend. All these are possible with someone who is there to help you live comfortably and safely in your own home. You will need a spare bedroom so that the live in has somewhere of their own when you do not need their help.
Home Help`s live in staff are fully trained, their references are checked and they all undergo CRB investigation. If you have a car and it can be arranged for them to be on the insurance, they can drive you around when and where you want to go. They can cook the meals you like, and be company if you would like to have someone to chat to.
This 'one to one' service is not cheap, but you may be surprised that it is considerably less than most residential home rates, where you might be one of a number of residents, looked after by a few staff, and in unfamiliar surroundings. |
