How we help – live in and homecare support to rehabilitate after a hospital stay in Hampshire, Sussex and Surrey
Settling back home
Q. I have a hospital stay planned. Can you arrange a helper to be there when I
come home, so that the first few days are easier for me?
A. Just give us a ring and let us know what you need and when. It is helpful to have some notice so that we can ensure that it is scheduled in, but we are
able to respond at short notice if it is urgent. We can make sure that your
home is ready for you, and help with any equipment or medication that needs
sorting out for your return.
Q. I hope to be better after a week or two. Do I have to have a helper for a set period,
and if so, how long is it?
A. You do not need to have a helper for a set period. You can book someone for a
week or so, and then extend it if you need help for a bit longer. We will provide
someone for as long or as short a period as you need.
Q. I have had a helper, who I like very much, for a while, and I may need to go into hospital. What happens to the helper when I am away? Will she be there when I come back?
A. We always try to make sure that your helper is there when you need them. If we can
have notice about your return home, then we will do all we can to make sure that the
same helper is there for you.
